We aim to create new and dynamic economic opportunities in the region’s forest-based rural communities while boosting the global competitiveness of the PNW mass timber industry.
The region-wide program will create a safer, sustainable, and forward-looking forestry sector with greater economic benefits for workers and businesses.
Our comprehensive solution has three initiatives:
- Open-source Digital Public Infrastructure
To generate and share forestry information, we seek to develop an open-source digital public infrastructure including a forest asset registry, forest inventory mapping, wildfire risk assessments, forest model repository, blockchain-based smart contracts, and an AI-powered data hub. This initiative will launch a new era of collaboration, transparency, and efficiency throughout the wood supply chain. - Forestry Workplace Supply
To benefit the next generation of forestry workers, we plan to develop safety and productivity solutions for workers and businesses across the wood supply and mass timber construction industries. - Forest Workforce Development
To modernize the workforce industry, we also seek to train forest machine operators and managers, introduce forestry careers to high school students, and assist community colleges in developing innovative forest machine training programs.
