The Accelerator will be the Mass Timber Innovation Center at the T2 Housing Innovation Campus.
The Mass Timber Innovation Accelerator will assemble teams of specialists and programs to
- Accelerate the commercialization of innovative products
- Address offshore price competition
- Improve production efficiencies
- Increase access to capital
- Improve workforce development and talent pipelines for the Washington and Oregon mass timber sectors
The physical home of the Accelerator will be the Mass Timber Innovation Center at the T2 Housing Innovation Campus, currently being redeveloped by the Port of Portland from its former state as a marine terminal, with funding from a Build Back Better Regional Challenge (BBB-RC) award. T2 is a central location for the PNW, adjacent to Interstate 5 and the Portland International Airport, and an ideal nexus and meeting point.
